new web game: "Up The Vote" as a numbers game

Up The Vote is a free short "clicker" / idle / incremental game about increasing young voter enrollment in Aotearoa New Zealand for the upcoming 2026 election. It takes about 0-10 minutes to play on your phone or computer.

Note that the game gets more difficult as the real-life October 25th NZ voter enrollment deadline approaches. You'll start with less time, or even fail instantly if you play after the deadline. Just like in the real-life game known as democracy.

This post details my inspirations and intent, and spoils what happens in the game. If you care about that, then play it first (0-10 minutes). This is your last SPOILER WARNING.

new Quake map: Mermaids In The Basement (for Quake Rooftops Jam)

After making my previous map "One Need Not Be A House" for Quake Brutalist Jam 3, I swore I wouldn't make another giant non-linear castle island single player Quake level.

... anyway, this is another giant non-linear castle island single player Quake level called "Mermaids In The Basement," made for Quake Rooftops Jam organized by Naitelveni and Sock.

You can download and play Rooftops Jam now on Slipseer! It has 19 rooftop-themed maps, all made in 1.5 months.

This post details my design process, intent, and regrets. It SPOILS what happens in the level. If you care, then play it first. Consider this your last SPOILER WARNING.
