"Zobeide" at Playing The Game, 27-28 October in Milan


I'm fixing up Zobeide / adding a few features for yet another Lunarcade event, this time at "Playing The Game" in Milan from 27-28 October at Spazio O' Artoteca. If you're around, then you should attend, if for no other reason than to play XRA's mesmerizing "Memory of a Broken Dimension."

Two days of meetings between theory and practice of videogames

On 27 and 28 October will be held in Milan, at the Space O ' Via Pastrengo, the first edition of Playing The Game , an event that acts as a meeting point between production practices, use and (re) interpretation of video game medium.
The event will take place in the context of IF - Imagine the future , an initiative promoted by the Province of Milan and the Chamber of Commerce and in collaboration with NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti .

The event will be organized in thematic areas and will touch many aspects of the universe of video games, from the most practical to those which are strictly related to the academic and artistic. Specifically, the sections of the exhibition will be:

Indie Games - Dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of the culture of independent game. Works indie Brendon Chung , Robert Yang and XRA , characterized by minimal look and the avant-garde look. Selection by Santa Ragione.
Homebrew - Edited by Lucio Campani ( GamesCollection ). Present a wide selection of titles "homemade", developed on platforms of the past, all freely playable during the days of the event.
Game Art - tour of the exhibition organized in a series of works deliberately contaminated with suggestions gaming, in which it found its language and thematic imagery of video games. The exhibition will include works by Matthew Bittanti , Emanuele Bresciani , Mark Mendeni , Shinji Murakami , Kenton Sheely , Tonylight and VjVISUALOOP .
Videogame Music - Andrea Babich and Fabio "Kenobit" Bortolotti , makers of Outcast Sound Shower , sonorizzeranno the Saturday evening with an innovative dj-set created by video game consoles.
There will be lectures and panel discussions on various topics in the field of Game Studies and gaming in general, and meetings with indie game developers Italians who will present their projects to the public.
